Learn skills for mushroom hunting in Tumbler Ridge, BC with Ryan Sullivan.

Hike into the forest with professional guide, Danielle Roscher and mycologist Ryan Sullivan to forage for mushrooms. August is the perfect time to look for fungi, especially after a burn year. Our mushroom man, Ryan will teach you a variety of skills for choosing shrooms that will tantalize your taste buds. Each guest will get the opportunity to forage for themselves and then add to a back country mushroom inspired appetizer over a cook stove in the field.

Itinerary: Forage for Fungi

Join us and develop your mushroom foraging skills with the expert guidance of Ryan Sullivan.

Day 1

We will meet at the Tumbler Ridge Visitors Center at 9am. Here you can use a bathroom and do a little bit of local shopping before we head out. Car pooling optional. Please bring a bagged lunch, plenty of water, containers to store your finds, sunscreen, bug spray and layers for change in weather.


The Details

Accommodation / Base Camp:

Stay 2 nights with us at the Hideaway. You can book the entire house or just one room to share the house with other women on the course.
